P.E

Intent

At Hill Top Academy, we recognise the importance of being active and the effect it has on a child’s health and wellbeing, their ability to learn effectively and achieve in school. As a school we want to promote participation in sport and physical activity and believe we have an important role in partnership with the family and wider community in promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Hill Top Academy is committed to promoting the health and well-being of its pupils and staff through physical activity. At Hill Top Academy we believe the subject of Physical Education aims to provide numerous opportunities for every pupil to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to lead a physically active lifestyle. We believe that a high-quality Physical Education programme in school promotes an active lifestyle and improved health and motor skill development which will have a long last impact on pupils lives way beyond their time spent at school and into adulthood. High quality lessons will help to raise pupil’s self-esteem and will encourage our pupils to be dedicated and resilient individuals. Improving our pupil’s confidence and motivation which should have an impact on the progress the children make across the curriculum.

Implementation

We implement our P.E intent using the 'Your P.E' scheme.
